Britney Spears ... [Sep. 10th, 2007|09:36 am]
So ... everyone is talking about it. Of course our friend YouTube has it posted already. I heard about it on the radio this morning ... that has to have been the saddest thing I have ever seen.

Wasn't this supposed to be her comeback performance? Ouch.

MTV actually had to pull all of the cameras back and only take wide shots because she wasn't even trying to lipsynch!

And then her excuse was that she heard Sarah Silverman was going to make fun of her kids and that upset her? Wasn't that an excuse that she used before? I seem to recall her being angry at Sarah Silverman at some other performance for making fun of her or something. If she has such a problem with Sarah's jokes, then maybe she shouldn't agree to perform at events with her.

But, yeah, that's a great excuse for that kind of behavior. >.>

I thinks he can officially kiss her career good bye.

I really enjoyed the reaction shots, especially P. Diddy and 50 cent who just had "WTF?" looks on their faces. Although, Diddy kind of looked sad more than anything else.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows [Jul. 6th, 2007|03:17 pm]
So ... the book is coming out and my friend Q and I hammered out what we think the plot will be like, based on what she has done in the other books, what she has set up and what she has said in interviews. Here is what we think:

Beginning of the book, "ZOMG, we have to find the other 5 horcruxes! Let's start looking." "YAR!"

Middle of the book, "ZOMG Ron has been killed by death eaters!" "OH NOES!" "I r bitter Hermione who thinks that killing death eaters is a good idea and I uses my smarts to come up with a potion/herb/spell/whatever that will kill them the next time they are gathered as it works on a radial basis and not an individual killing spell!" "No, Hermione! We have to find those horcruxes, but thanks for introducing that plot device!" "ZOMG, you're right and you're welcome!"

End of the book, "We have found only 4 horcruxes and destroyed them, but what about the fifth?!" "ZOMG! It's Voldemort and he is trying to kill Harry and they are locked in battle! What am I, Hermione, to do!" "ZOMG, Hermione! I (Harry) am the fifth horcrux! Kill me!!!!" "ZOMG, Harry, I lurv you best buddy ol' pal, I can't!" "ZOMG, do eeeeeeeeeeeeeet!" "Okay!"

The end.

Stephen King on Nancy Grace [Oct. 6th, 2006|12:23 pm]
"One politics-and-business blog calls this ''the dead mother bounce.'' I call it ugly and shameful. As journalism it's immoral, and as entertainment, it's outright pimpery. Thirty-five years ago I wrote a novel called The Running Man, in which viewers watched fugitives run until they were executed on national television. I never expected to see anything remotely like it for real, but I never imagined Nancy Grace...and I've got a pretty nasty imagination."

Please Help Amy! [Apr. 4th, 2006|12:45 pm]
Hey guys!

Another October mommy (she adopted a baby in October of '05) has found out that the people she adopted her baby from are having another baby NEXT October and she wants to try and keep the siblings together. The only problem is that it costs A LOT of money to adopt a baby and they just paid a lot to adopt their son.

So, they need to raise money to pay for the adoption. (Not anything else, just the actual legal costs, etc. associated with adopting the new baby.)

They have set up a web site to take PayPal donations, so if you have the time, it would be wonderful of you to check out the web site and donate even a dollar to their family so they can adopt the new baby!

If not, then I would be appreciative if you could pass the web site on to as many people as you would feel comfortable with. :) The more people who give a dollar, the closer they are to their goal and being able to adopt this baby. :D

Thanks!

Mistake! [Dec. 23rd, 2005|09:06 am]
It was such a mistake of my boss to have told us yesterday that we would be getting out at noon today. I have no desire to do anything! Although, if she hadn't told us we were getting out at noon today, then I would ALSO be doing nothing and sitting around wondering when we are going to get out. ;)

You are The Magician

Skill, wisdom, adaptation. Craft, cunning, depending on dignity.

Eleoquent and charismatic both verbally and in writing,
you are clever, witty, inventive and persuasive.

The Magician is the male power of creation, creation by willpower and desire. In that ancient sense, it is the ability to make things so just by speaking them aloud. Reflecting this is the fact that the Magician is represented by Mercury. He represents the gift of tongues, a smooth talker, a salesman. Also clever with the slight of hand and a medicine man - either a real doctor or someone trying to sell you snake oil.

It's That Time! [Sep. 30th, 2005|09:40 am]
[mood | amused]

Time to take the cats in for their annual check-ups. I made the appointment for next Saturday at 8:30 AM. Here is the plan ... it's going to be a fun morning in the Bent/Franzoni house. :D

We all wake up at our regular times, round up the cats (Franzoni has the pleasure of holding Avalon on his lap since we only have two carriers and three cats), everyone gets in the car. We drop Mike off at work and then Franzoni and I head over to the vet. Hehehe.

I anticipate the car ride into town will go a little something like this ...

"Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrawwrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, rrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeow, reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeow ... "

Approximately 20 minutes of that from all three of them. It should be entertaining ... ;)

But, it will be good to get them all to the vet because now we can get Avalon set up under Franzoni's name and information so they can call him, yadda-yadda. Right now she is under our name and that's no good.

This will be my first experience with Wendell at the vet, so it should be fun. :D I know how Puck acts at the vet, but Wendell and Avalon are both wildcards as far as behavior at the vet goes.

Hmmm ... maybe we should get a third person to go with us to help with the cat carriers. I can only carry one at a time and Avalon won't be in one so Franz will literally have his hands full trying to hold on to her, I'm sure. Hmmm ...

Then again ... this could all be a moot point. We may not make it to the appointment if I go into labor early since that's a week from the due date. ;)

Doin' Canada Proud ;) [Sep. 15th, 2005|08:11 am]
So ... on my little pregnancy board this woman started this post about how she wishes people wouldn't point fingers and blame others for the horrible response after Katrina. Well ... if we don't do it now then no one will ever do it and yadda-yadda, in my book. I couldn't disagree with her horribly mis-informed, naive and idiotic point of view more. I posted explaining about the media bubble that was around GW and said that his domestic policies have always been terrible and that this is just a shining example of what was not supposed to happen anymore. This was what we had homeland security for, supposedly, disasters.

Well, because I have a Canadian flag next to my little name icon she assumed I am in Canada and said that I can't judge US policies from up there. I posted this in response ... "Yeah, because it takes a long time for the newspaper to be dropped off at our igloos each day and then it takes us an extra week to try and read it around the hoods of our parkas."

I hate ignorance.

Candy's Ultrasound [Sep. 9th, 2005|12:46 pm]
[mood | annoyed]

Well, Candy (my little brother's ... uh ... baby's mamma? I don't know what to call her) had the big ultrasound today. They are having a little boy. I know what they mean now when they say that it's clear as day when you are having a little boy. It really is quite obvious. Heh.

John came by the house to show us the pictures from the ultrasound. He was really excited.

I have to say ... something that I thought I was pretty 'whatever' on though, kind of bothered me probably because he was so flippant about it. They are going to have the kid circumcised and they didn't even really like ... think about what it means or do any kind of research into what it does to the kid, what it entails or any of that. He is only doing it because he thinks uncircumcised penises are ugly. I wonder if he'll feel bad when his kid is an adult and most of the other guys he knows are uncircumcised because that's actually the trend now in the US, they are finally figuring out that it's cruel and not really necessary. I guess I'm not really 'whatever' on the subject after all.;)

I just know that after seeing a circumcision that I could never ever hold my son or be in the room while that was done to him and if I can't be present for it because it looks like it hurts that bad and it's an elective procedure ... then it shouldn't be done in my opinion. :P I guess I just have a lot of issues with the whole procedure ... :P

Mid-Missouri Rocks [Sep. 2nd, 2005|10:08 am]
I just have to say that my state rocks. While we do not have space to offer to refugees, personally, I went to thise web site that allows people to list available space they have. Check out how many people in our little area are opening their homes! 48 homes are open and the top listing in Hannibal, MO, is offering to house 10 people AND go pick them up in New Orleans AND give them jobs when they are here! Wow! We ROCK!
